OTZMA TZEIRA (Young Power)
For adolescent girls from the ages of 13-15 who are on the brink of distress and risk, and do not benefit from the support of the welfare authorities. The activities aim to empower and develop their potential and the self awareness of the girls and so preventing their downwards spiral in the future.
Designed for adolescent girls in distress, aged 13-18, who have been referred by the welfare authorities. The activities are held in the WIZO branches and the aim is to provide a social, education, value based framework which will help the girls cope with their difficulties by reinforcing and building up their self image.
Designed for 14-18 year old girls who are suffering from emotional neglect and a damaged self image, and who are liable to fall into delinquency . The girls come to the warm homes where they receive a hot meal, therapy, emotional support, educational and social support.
A study program designed for older girls who have successfully emerged from a cycle of distress, and intend to serve as role models for girls at risk. The program is operated in conjunction with Tel Aviv University.
KADATZ (Pre army vocational program)
Designed for adolescent girls who do not meet the criteria for enlistment into the Israel Defense Forces and have been exempted from military service. The project has been in operation for thirty years and is jointly operated by WIZO, the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor and the IDF. During the course of one year the girls learn a trade, work ethics and personal and social responsibility as well as intensive empowerment and enrichment courses. At the end of the year long course they enlist into the army.
